Red Angel #3 cover...

What The Flux Comics, the publisher of the upcoming "Mac and Trouble" series, asked me to ink the cover of Red Angel #3.
I'm always glad to do work like this, mostly because of the detailed pencils of my good friend Russ Leach.
(please click the pic for a larger version)

Russ' work is awesome, and he does a great job on the interiors too. Between his art, and the fantastic storytelling of Erin Pyne (the writer), this book is a real winner in my book. I can't wait for more.

Russ Leach can be found at this link, and, the wonderful Erin Pyne can be found here.
What The Flux Comics has a great site here...

I hope to be doing more work with them in the future. Work like this is very enjoyable.

Island Dreams card set...

I love doing charity work. Any time that I can help I will. So when the opportunity arose to do some sketch cards to benefit a hospital in need, I was there.

Marty Kuklinski, world famous DJ and sketch card aficionado, is the brain behind this set. Look for info on him here. From here, you can link to him and his radio show, see a vast gallery of sketch cards, and maybe catch a tune or two.

Here's a few recent samples from the set that I had done:

Some information on the charity involved: (this is a direct quote from the website)
"In 1999, WLRA and Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois partnered together in order to raise money for the hospital's Family Assistance Fund. The Fund provides practical assistance to patient families who, through no fault of their own, are suffering severe hardship due to an unexpected illness and either social or economic deprivation. More specifically, the funds go towards paying for such things as critical prescriptions for children, overnight lodging, clothing, and groceries when these items are sorely needed"

To learn more about this great charity, and maybe how you can get involved, as well as the sketch cards and set info, please click this link.

Recent piece of art...

I saw this cool zombie piece by Jim Kyle, and offered to ink it.

It was a fun piece, I tried to give it a Bernie Wrightson flair, I hope that I succeeded.

Jim Kyle's art can be found at this link here.
His credits include Rittenhouse, Topps, Marvel, DC, and Universal.

Triple Threat !

It's not often that that I get a lot of news in one day, but this weekend proved to be a Triple Threat for me.
In my email, I get not one, not two, but three different artists' sketch cards to preview !

1: Laura Inglis... Laura is a great artist and has done many beautiful sketch cards. Here, she's captured the 'friendly fun' shared between Mac and Trouble. I like the storybook quality she's brought to her cards. You can see more of Laura's fine work here at this link.

2: Jason Shoemaker... Jason's work is just great. He's done some amazing Star Wars and Marvel hero sketch cards, and we were fortunate to have him on this set. His style on these cards, shows his versatility to adapt himself to the project. For more on Jason please click this link here.

3: Jeff Austin... Jeff is a fine artist and inker, and is well known for his work at AC Comics. This is one of Jeff's first ventures in the sketch card arena - and I would say he's taken to it well.
Jeff's artwork is amazing. I've had the pleasure of working with Jeff several times, we've been friends for years. You can see more of Jeff's work here at this link.

All three are also on Facebook, look them up !

We are privileged to have these fine artists working on the Mac and Trouble card set. And hopefully in the future, we will bring them (and the other artists) to do guest work on the comics.

Thanks guys !

New Commission

Trying to whip out a few commissions (which I never ever do LOL) so that I  can get back to the CBLDF set and the Mac and Trouble book.

Bumblebee of the Transformers...

Batman... or... Bate el hombre !

When Luis Velasco asks you to ink over pencils that the legendary Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez has done... you JUMP TO THE OCCASION lol
Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, legendary DC penciler known for his great work on Batman has always been a great inspiration for me, I was glad to do it.

This piece is to be hung at an exhibition in Malaga, Spain... it was quite an honor.
Luis and Club Batman can be found on Facebook here...

MORE Mac and Trouble - Sketch Card inserts

It's always a treat when you're working on a comic or card set, and start to get new material in.
On the new Mac and Trouble card set, some new sketch cards have rolled in... this time, from artist/animator George Leon...
George added his own particular style to Mac and Trouble - giving them some incredible personality !

Every 4-card promo set of Mac and Trouble comes with a sketch card promo - the first of it's kind in the industry !

Both George Leon, and Russ Leach (who's cards were shown in an earlier post) have donated their Artist Proof cards to the animal charity. Thanks guys - you both rock !

For more of George Leon's fabulous illustrations, he's requested that you join him on Facebook at this link...
